How it works

The same careful process, every single job.

No improvising, no shortcuts, no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from your first call to the day we hand back the room — and the promise that governs all of it.

The CCN Method

Seven phases, start to finish

  1. Listen — free 20-minute call

Before anything else, we understand the human. What does the space look like, what made you reach out this week, what do you want to be able to do in there, and is anything in it emotionally hard? Your exact words shape the whole plan.

  2. Map — on-site assessment ($95, credited back)

Measurements, a moisture and safety check, a volume estimate, and your written Space Plan: zone map, materials list with prices, and a firm quote with package options. The plan is yours to keep whether or not you hire us.

  3. Prep — the night before

You'll get a text: two of us, what time, wear something dusty-friendly, and don't prep anything. We bring the tarps, bins, dollies, and everything else.

  4. Empty & sort — the heavy lift

Everything comes out into six stations: keep, donate, sell, recycle, dispose, and undecided. You make every call; we do every lift. The Undecided box is sacred — anything too hard to decide today goes in, labeled and dated, no pressure, revisited in six months.

  5. Design & build

Zones mapped to how you actually live: heavy things low, daily things at arm's reach, seasonal things overhead, and 15–20% of every zone left empty on purpose — a system at 100% capacity fails within weeks.

  6. Label & document

Every container gets a printed label readable from the doorway. Long-term boxes get contents lists inside the lid. Within 48 hours you receive your digital Space Map — one page showing what lives where.

  7. Hand off & hold

A full walkthrough so the logic of every zone makes sense, donation receipts for tax time, before-and-after photos, a written maintenance plan — and check-ins from us at 2 days, 14 days, and 90 days.

The No-Judgment Promise — published, and trained

Five rules our team works by. Every job. No exceptions.

Most companies say "no judgment." We wrote it down, we train it, and we hold ourselves to it:

1. We control our faces.

No widened eyes, no sharp inhale, no pause in the doorway. You're watching our reaction more closely than you know — and there won't be one.

2. We never compare.

Not to other clients, not to a standard, not to your neighbors. If we told you stories about other clients, we'd tell stories about you. We don't.

3. We never ask why.

"Why did you keep all these?" is an accusation wearing a question's clothes. If the story matters, you'll tell us. If it doesn't, we don't need it.

4. We handle everything with care.

The way someone picks up a broken lamp tells you what they think of you. Every object gets handled as though it matters — because to someone, it does.

5. You own every decision.

Nothing — nothing — leaves your home without your explicit yes. If you want to keep something we'd have released, then it's a keep, full stop, and we find it a home.

Day one, hour by hour

What a full session actually looks like

  1. 9:00 — Arrival & walkthrough

We text an ETA on the way. Ten minutes to confirm the plan, then tarps go down.

  2. 9:15 — Everything out

We carry, you point. Sorting stations fill up fast, and the empty room usually gets its first sweep before lunch.

  3. 12:30 — Break

Decision-making is genuinely tiring. We build in breaks, and we bring cold water and a chair for you.

  4. 1:00 — Build & place

Shelving set, zones built, keeps go home. You'll see it take shape in real time.

  5. 3:30 — Labels & load-out

Printed labels throughout, donations loaded into our vehicle, boxes broken down, floor swept.

  6. 4:00 — Walkthrough

We tour every zone until the logic is obvious, hand over receipts, and schedule your check-in.

To prepare

Do nothing.

Genuinely nothing. Don't clean up first — people always want to, and it never helps. Don't pre-sort. Don't apologize when we walk in. Be around for decisions, keep pets somewhere comfortable, and wear clothes that can get dusty. That's the entire list.

When we'd refer you elsewhere

Clutter is not hoarding disorder. If a space suggests something clinical — blocked exits through the home, severe distress at releasing anything at all, unsafe conditions — we'll say so kindly, share names of licensed professionals who specialize in exactly this, and gladly work alongside them if that's helpful. Getting you the right help matters more to us than getting the job.

FAQ

The questions everyone asks

Will you make me throw things away?

No. Never. We present options and honest information; you make every single call. If you can't decide, the Undecided box exists precisely so you don't have to today.

How long does a garage take?

Most 2-car garages take 16–24 organizer-hours across two days. A 1-car garage in decent shape can be one full day. We quote a range at the assessment and commit to a package price before work starts.

What if it's really, really bad?

Condition 4s and 5s — pathways only, or not usable at all — are our specialty, not our exception. There is no version of a garage or basement we haven't seen. Truly.

Do I have to be there the whole time?

You (or someone you designate) need to be available for keep-or-go decisions, especially in the sorting phase. Once decisions are made, plenty of clients step away while we build.

What happens to the donations?

We load them, deliver them to donation centers, and hand you the receipts for tax time. One donation run is included with every package.

Do you take photos? Who sees them?

Only with your written permission, and internal-use and public-use permissions are separate. Most of our before/afters come from clients who chose to share; many choose not to, and that's completely fine.

What do I need to buy?

Often nothing — we use what you own first. If products would genuinely help, you get an exact list to buy yourself at zero markup, or we source everything at cost + 15%.

Can you help with a deceased parent's belongings?

Yes. It's some of the most important work we do. We go at your pace, document everything, and nothing sentimental gets rushed — ever.

What if my spouse and I disagree about what stays?

We don't take sides. Contested items go to their own pile for the two of you to talk through, and we keep the rest of the job moving.

Are you insured?

Yes — licensed, insured, and bonded, and happy to provide certificates before work begins.

Do you work with people who have ADHD?

Constantly, and gladly. Body-doubling, decision batching, and systems with low upkeep aren't buzzwords to us — they're how we design. Tell us what's worked and failed before, and we'll build around it.

How far in advance should I book?

Spring and fall book out 4–6 weeks. January, February, and mid-summer can often be scheduled within two weeks — and January–February carries a 10% off-season discount.

Twenty minutes. No obligation. No judgment.

The discovery call is free, and it ends with an honest answer about what your space needs — even if the answer is "you could do this yourself, and here's how."
